To start off, the main tip we can give you is, to start early. People who start practicing papers early in 10th grade usually end up scoring numerous a stars. We cannot stress this enough, start today.
Economics has a vast syllabus, hence many times a student might get stressed while planning to study for the exam, however, try not to worry about it too much as the chapters are all interconnected and easy to understand.
We advise that you should be thorough with the syllabus, and you should read the (full) notes at least twice before sitting for the examination.
For economics, papers are the key to getting an A*. Therefore, one should aim to complete all the papers from 2020, as the syllabus and exam pattern were changed in that year.
As you do papers you will understand the way the mark scheme wants you to write an answer, and you will identify some points that are repeated in almost all the questions.
When starting to do the past papers make sure that you write and solve the questions. It'll help you build endurance towards writing and also imprinting points in you're brain.
An efficient way to do these past papers would be to read the question, frame possible points in your head, and then check the mark scheme to see how much you scored. Over time, your accuracy will increase and you will be able to pinpoint the topics the question wants to ask you.
To score in economics, it depends on how well you can connect different topics and form a structured answer. The more topics you connect with a relevant explanation, the higher amount of marks you score.
Make sure to write in structured paragraphs for the 8 markers as well as the 6 markers. (for ex. two paras- for and two paras- against separated by a however (8 marker) and 3 paras, each containing an identification and an explanation(6 markers)
Make sure to memorize or get an understanding of all the definitions given below (a pdf in the resource bank) as you should write definitions in 8 and 6 markers. (occasionally mark for definitions)
When you start answering (writing) the answers, make sure to get feedback from your teachers which helps you to decrease the chances of losing a mark.
For paper 1 (MCQ), just focus on doing past papers as the topics are repeated, and practicing them allows you to build a strong base of theory.
Lastly, DO NOT STRESS ABOUT THE PAPER. Be confident about your preparation and you will ace it!
